Rescues In Need |
|
Rescues often have times where they heed to issue a call for help.
Most of the rescues are 501c3, which means that any donations to them
are a tax deduction. They rely heavily on donations.
Please take a moment and donate to one of these rescues.

| Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to pass
some info on. Rob (my husband) and I are moving in a few weeks to the IL side of St.
Louis. We are going to be needing to place some horses as they cannot all come with
us. We also have a number of other items that we are selling so that we do not have
to move them with us. On Aug 9th, we are having a moving sale out at our place to
sell a number of items.
Here is a list of the horses that we need to
sell:
Sweet Pea - yearling 1/2 arab, 1/2 mustang
pinto mare. She is halter broke, leads, ties, stands for farrier, utd on worming,
farrier, vacs. Super sweet, should mature to around 14.2- 15hh. Price is $350
obo
Miracle - 3 year old solid bay arab mare.
She is around 14.2hh. She is halter broke, leads, ties, loads. Utd on
worming, farrier, vacs. She has been saddled and had a rider on her, but is not well
broke, only started. $400 obo
Jasper - 3 year old pinto colt. He is
around 13hh is sorrel and white. He leads, loads, stands for farrier. Utd on
worming, farrier, vacs. He would make a great kids horse as he shouldn't get very
big. $300 obo
Lightning - 6 year old sorrel gelding.
He is about 12hh. He is halter broke, but needs work. He would make a
great cart pony with his floating trot. Free to a home with horse savvy that will
care for him and work with him.
Jackie - 7 year old sorrel reg QH mare.
She is about 16hh and used to be a cattle horse. Due to an injury to her
front left shoulder she is only a broodmare. She is a great mama and gives birth
with no problems. Utd on farrier, worming, vacs. She is a super sweet girl.
$100
Babydoll - 13 year old solid bay reg QH mare.
She is about 15.2hh and is a broodmare only. She has a club foot on her hind,
but gets around great. She was stepped on as a yearling before we got her and the
people didn't fix it. She is a great mama and throws babies with nice butts.
$100

anyone that might be interested in the things mentioned above, please pass the email

| Brandi,
A while back I spoke to you about getting some help for my rescued horses.
You said you could post my info and see if someone could help? It has been a while
and I just find it hard to ask. I don't think its pride. I just hate to think that I
can't do it myself.
It has gotten bigger than me and my family is hurting for it. My son was willing to give
up his birthday party so we could get more hay..... I can't do that......He works so hard
helping me on the farm.
He will be 17 on Sunday. I won't get many more birthdays with him at home.
All I need is a little extra to get hay put back for winter. I found a grower that is
willing to discount the hay to $30/1100lb roll if I get 40 rolls. The norm here
is $65 a roll and they are smaller bales.
I have a paypal account under thundervalleyfarm@hotmail.com.

The Hardware store was my main supplier but they are getting out of the feed part. I still
get the other horse supplies there. Ropes halters and so forth.
Any help that can be given will be so greatly appreciated. Any dollars I save on feed I
can put to hay. They also take credit cards over the phone if anyone just wants to help by
buying one bag of feed.
We are a small private rescue just trying to help as many as we can feed. At this time we
have 26 horses and ponies. We are at our limit. I can take no more in, until we place
some of the horses. This is hard when good horses are selling for $45.
Brandi you seem to be able to work magic. Please help us get the word out and hopefully
get us some relief. The bills have taken us over. I have a Mare we brought in that was
shot, in foal. We were able to save her and the baby, but the vet bills killed us. She is
still on meds. Five months later. Several others that just need a little extra care that I
can't afford to provide without some help.
Thank you for all that you do,

| Blazes
Tribute Equine Rescue is asking for your assistance. We understand that times are
tight for many right now, but the smallest amount can go a long way in the rehabilitation
of our rescued horses. Any amount that you can spare is greatly appreciated.
All donations are tax deductible and 100% of your donation goes towards the horses
in our care. Please consider making a donation today! Donations can be sent

Our
Needs
Blazes
is currently needing to raise enough money to get 200 round bales of Bermuda Hay hauled
in. It will take a Semi to get it all here in a timely manner. The bales are
5x6 and weigh about 1600 pounds. We can only get 23 on a Semi and it will cost us
nearly $4,275.00, to get all the hay hauled in. This will save us $35.00 a bale in
the total cost. It may sound expensive to get the hay hauled in, but ultimately,
Blazes would be saving $7,000.00 in expenses for Hay. Those savings will go a
long way in other areas of priority.
The
cost of grain has reached an all time high! Blazes feeds 2 tons of grain a
week. We are now paying $9.00 a bag for grain. Which means we are spending
$720 a week for grain alone. We feed 12% Horse Pellets, which is usually the most
cost effective! We also have some elderly horses that are on a special needs diet
and we feed them Nutrena Senior Feed which is $15.00 a bag and we feed 7 bags a week.
We also have a supplement called Envision made by Progressive Nutrition that cost
$36.00 a bag, and we feed 6 bags a week. We are desperately seeking donations to
help offset those expenses. We gladly accept donations of the above items at any
time. Blazes spends $1,014.00 a week just to feed our rescued horses.
Those expenses dont even cover what we spend in Farrier, Veterinary, and
equipment. We ask that you please consider making a donation today to help us
continue the quality care that our rescued horses deserve.
Blazes
Tribute Equine Rescue is now caring for 52 horses at this time. Adopters are still
very much needed as we still have many wonderful horses available for adoption. If
you or anyone you know are thinking about adding a horse to your family, please visit us
on line at www.blazesequinerescue.com
or call 405-399-3084 to schedule an appointment today.
Boxes
for Blazes
Blazes
Tribute Equine Rescue is accepting donated items for our upcoming Garage Sale. We
dont have the exact date in place at this time, but we are planning a fall garage
sale. We are accepting donated items to be sold in our garage sale to help raise
money for our rescued horses. Donated items are tax deductible.
Horse
Photo Contest
Check
us out August 1st at Midnight for our Funniest Horse Photo Contest. Please
watch our website for additional information at www.blazesequinerescue.com.
The contest will run from August 1st at Midnight until September 1st at Midnight.
What a wonderful way to help Blazes raise money and get your funniest photo
of your special companion seen by many.
Volunteers
Needed
We
will be working the concession stands at the Oklahoma State Fair again this year and need
volunteers to help work concession for Blazes. Blazes gets a percentage
of the sales earned! Every bit helps tremendously! We need volunteers from age
16 and over to help us. If you are interested please e-mail Desiree Walling at dwalling@hintonet.net for
additional information including dates and times available to work. Desiree heads up
our volunteer program and she will need a complete list of everyone that is willing to
work. It is a great opportunity to help the horses!
T-Shirts
& Hats
Blazes
still has T-Shirts and Hats available for purchase. We have most sizes available, we
are currently sold out of 2XL, but hope to order more soon! T-Shirts are $15.00 and
Hats are $12.50. You can purchase them on-line or through the mail. Proceeds
from the sales benefit the rescued horses currently in our care.
Livestock
Shelters
If
you are needing a great built, portable Livestock Shelter, please check out Calumet
Industries, Inc. They have quality built Livestock Shelters available and if you
mention Blazes Tribute Equine Rescue during the purchase of your shelter.
Blazes will get 10% of the purchase price. These shelters are made from
Galvalume Metal and have a Pipe Frame. They are 15 Wide X 9 Deep, 7
Back X 8 Front, 29ga. Master Rib Metal, Four Anchors Included, 19 colors to
choose from and Delivery Available. Prices are $1195.00 for the Galvalume Metal and
$1295.00 for the Colored Metal. You can contact Calumet Industries at 405-262-2263
for additional information. We have a display model available here at Blazes
and you can visit our website at www.blazesequinerescue.com for
a brochure.
Motorcycle
Blazes
had a 1985 Yamaha Virago Motorcycle donated to us last year. This is a nice bike and
runs great. We are in the process of trying to get a Title on the bike. We are
hoping to place this bike up for sale very soon! If you are interested in purchasing
a Motorcycle to save on gas and help the horses at the same time, please contact us by
e-mail at blazesequineresc@aol.com or
call us at 405-399-3084.
Blazes
Tribute Equine Rescue Thanks You in advance for your continued support! We simply
cant do this alone and your help is greatly appreciated.

LAZY
HORSE RANCH
www.LazyHorseRescue.org
We
are devastated to announce: The time has come to close our doors !
The losses and debts
of 4.5+ years of rescue have finally caught up with us, and worsened by severe weather and
the horrible economy, we have no choice but to quit our private little rescue.....
Very few people know
this, but "Lazy Horse Rescue" is a two-person operation - mainly just
me, with the occasional help of my husband if the tractor or the barn needs repair,
or if the horses are out of water.......
Other than that, from
finding, rescuing, caring for and adopting out the horses, it's just me, no volunteers
or other help whatsoever (besides some great foster-homes of course).
And all that while I'm working a full-time job, working in and around the house,
caring for 4 big dogs, etc., etc., etc.
Adoptions,
sponsorships & donations have been slower than ever before, and the
financial losses, plus the ever-growing day-to-day pressure and worries are now really
taking its toll on us.....
And even though we
are both working full-time, all the expenses, debts and losses of over
4.5 years of horse rescue, are just becoming unbearable...
We will most-certainly remain committed to ALL horses
adopted from here. We will stay in touch with all adopters, will do check-ups via e-mail
or in person when necessary, and will also take back and re-adopt any horse that
their adopter can no longer keep. We will also try to keep rescuing and placing the
occasional horse in an emergency situation - as long as it is do-able and affordable.
So please keep checking our website from time to time, and keep an eye out for a
newsletter here or there. But LAZY HORSE RESCUE as you know it won't be any
longer....
We need every
help we can possibly get, to place these last 15+ horses. Due to reasons that I just tried
to explain, we can't really afford to drastically lower any adoption fees, but for
one last time we can offer a "payment plan" (SPONSOR-TO-ADOPT program), at
least for the horses located in SD and at foster-homes that can keep the horses until
the adoption fees are paid in full. And all horses located in SD, we can also board
here until fall in case you want to adopt but aren't ready yet to bring your horse home
yet. We can also offer TRIAL ADOPTIONS, which means you could adopt a horse, bring him/her
home, and then have a certain time-frame to decide if you want to adopt the horse for good
or not. If not, you would receive a full refund, but would lose the transportation
fees and agree to foster the horse until re-adopted. And last but not least, in
case transportation is the big issue, we could try to help out with transportation
ourselves, but only within a limited area.
Almost ALL
horses have to go, including horses in rehab, horses that are not on the website (please
ask for details) and some of our permanent residents. However, even thought we are
under a lot of pressure, we will NOT compromise on any of the adoption- and
screening procedures, and we will still try to the find the BEST home for each horse.
Here are
brand-new photos and videos of all horses located in SD (some listed on the webiste,
some not) - the photos were taken today, with 50+ mph winds.....
PHOTOS 7-11-2008
VIDEOS 7-11-2008
And for one
last time - any donations towards a horse's care, adoption fee or transport would be
GREATLY appreciated, and would help out tremendously with placing these last
15+ horses..... PLEASE HELP !

spoke to UF this morning. Aaleyahs surgery has been rescheduled for tomorrow. Dr.
Ryan is still coming out this morning to have a look at her and also to check Kids
injury. Keep praying everyone, its definitely working! I will let you all know what
the dr. says after he leaves.
You have all been so
generous in helping with Aaleyahs needs. If you would, please take a look at the
list below. We have angels that help with the costs, but we really need more angels.
Please consider our needs below even $1.00 helps! Thanks J
These are
the rescue's immediate needs for the next month. Any help is greatly appreciated!
We have
compiled a list of needs for all horses for this month. The list includes links to
websites,
company names, and phone numbers so anyone that can help us this month
can do so
very easily. Thank you for taking the time to help our horses with their needs.
Corta-Flx
HA is used by Ruby, Little E, Granny, and Jake.
Country
Supply has it for the best price, $42.99 and they make a donation to us if you enter
out
"Country Care Code" which is BHFER. The link to this item is below.
http://www.horse.com/Horse-Supplements/Joint-Support/CORTA-FLX-HA-Solution-BWS31.html
This
supplement is used by Kiwi, Granny, and Gentleman. It is used to support
healthy
weight and muscles in horses.
This
supplement is only available from the website below, and costs $82.50.
http://www.kinetictech.net/products/mass
This
product is used for Jake. The vet recommended it to help his feet. It helps
flush the
toxins from his body and in doing so it shortens the time that the
abscesses
brew in his feet.
This
product costs $40.00 for a 4 pound jar, which lasts one month.
http://amavitahorse.com/AMAVita_Products_1.htm
We use
Cocosoya oil for Gentleman, Kiwi, Momma Sue, Paco, & Chiquita.
It is a
fat supplement that is a great weight builder, and also used to maintain weight on
horses
like Gentleman, that require more grain than a smaller horse.
1 gallon
is $16.29 + shipping. If you buy 2.5 gallons, it is $28.45 + shipping.
http://www.cocosoya.com/ezecommerce.cfm?fuseaction=productlist&subcategoryid=59
Cowboy
Magic is a fantastic detangler. We are almost out. We keep it on hand to use after
baths,
and also to use on rescues when they come in. Usually they have mats in their manes
and/or
tails when they come in. Mats are painful because they constantly pull the hair.
By using
this product it makes it quite easy to remove the mats with minimal pulling, and
it keeps
us from having to cut the tail hair.
It is
available in 2 sizes. 4 oz is $7.89, the 12 oz. is $17.19 from Country Supply. Please
use our
"Country Care Code" BHFER and they donate a portion of the sale to us.
http://www.horse.com/Horse-Grooming/Coat-Care/Cowboy-Magic-Detangler-Shine-BKL06.html
This is a
hoof rasp. We keep a few on hand to clean up hooves in between trims. Sometimes the
hooves
get chipped, and if we rasp it down it helps prevent any further damage to the hoof wall.
We prefer
Diamond Brand, but they are $17.95 each. There are other rasps available for less money
but they
don't last as long. This is also a Country Supply item.
http://www.horse.com/Horse-Grooming/Farrier-Supply/Diamond-Hoof-Rasp-BIF65.html
We need
additional halters!! We use rope halters because they are
easier
for Theresa to fasten, and they fit different size horses. We
don't
have a color preference, so pick your favorite color :)
They are
$9.99 each or buy 2 or more for just $8.99 each! Remember to
enter our
code at Country Supply!
http://www.horse.com/Farm-Ranch-Supplies/Halters/Cool-Citrus-Colored-Rope-Halter-BMH27.html
We also
need regular nylon halters, too. We prefer to have safety halters with
the
leather crown. If you order from Country Supply, they come in 2 sizes. We
do not
have any "yearling" sizes on hand. These can be used on ponies, and
smaller
horses, like the Pasos. They are just $14.99 each.
http://www.horse.com/Farm-Ranch-Supplies/Safety-Gear/Pro-Craft-Turnout-Safety-Halter-BMH16.html
Panacur
Power Pack is a 5 day "power" wormer used on most of
our new
arrivals, especially when we know they have worms.
We like
to keep at least 2 on hand, and just used the last one
for
Sparky. Each power pack is $52.49. Please be sure to use
our
Country Care Code - BHFER. If you order over $75.00, shipping
is FREE!!
http://www.horse.com/Horse-Wormers/Fenbendazole/Panacur-Powerpack-BBL18.html
We have a
few horses that would greatly benefit from chiropractic treatments. Those horses are:
GRANNY
JAKE
MOMMA SUE
Each
chiropractic treatment is $125. Granny has an angel that pays $50.00 toward her treatment.
If we could have
3 angels
each donate $25.00 per month for Granny, that would be fantastic. If anyone would like to
donate for
Jake and
Momma Sue that would be absolutely wonderful.
Shavings
- We use 3 bags PER DAY of Regal Downs Gold Bedding for Momma Sue, Aaleyah, and Buttercup.
Each bag
costs $6.95. We use these for them because they are dust-free.
Buttercup
goes through one bag a day for her stall.
Ruby uses
1/2 a bag each day, and she is bedded down with Derby Gold Fine Bedding, at $4.95 per bag.
Grain
- We go through (are you ready) a 50 pound bag of Purina Equine Senior EACH DAY! One bag
costs $15.00
We
also feed Purina Strategy, and each 50 pound bags lasts about 1 1/2 days. One bag costs
$14.00.
We also
feed Purina alfalfa hay cubes. Each 50 pound bag lasts 1 1/2 days, and costs
$15.00.
The above
items - shavings, grain, and hay cubes - are all purchased from Sanders Feed of Ocala.
Mr. Sanders is a
wonderful
man, and we enjoy doing business with his company. Credits can be called in directly to
his store.
The
number is 352-873-8660, please tell them it is for Beauty's Haven Equine Rescue.
Buttercup
eats milk replacer pellets. Each 50 pounds bag lasts her about 7 days, and costs $40.00.
She also gets
Foal-Lac,
but has plenty of that right now, thanks to one of her wonderful angels.
Aaleyah
Belle still drinks milk replacer. Each 50 pound bag lasts her about a week, and costs
$130.00 per bag.
Because
she hasn't learned to chew yet, she cannot eat the pellets and now it may be longer before
she can
attempt
to chew because of her surgery scheduled for July 11.
Our milk
replacer powder and pellets come from Berettini Feed. Credits can be called in
352-629-1447.
Our hay
comes from Sanders Feed of Ocala, 352-873-8660. We purchase T&A, O&A, and
Alfalfa hay from them.
Currently,
one ton of hay (which lasts us approx. 9 days) is $405. We have enough hay left for about
4 days.
We need a
bottle of Banamine. One bottle is $89.
All
horses are due for a trim this month, at a cost on average of $33 per horse x 18 horses.
Donations for this can be made via PayPal or Google.
We buy Perry's
Hoof Oil for our horses' hooves, but it is made and sold locally. It costs $15 per
can, and donations
for this
item can be made via PayPal or Google.
We can
always use more fly spray. We use Endure, and it can be purchased
from
Country Supply. By the gallon, it costs $69.95. One gallon lasts a few days.
With more
than 20 horses to fly spray each day or so, it gets costly!
http://www.horse.com/Farnam/Pest-Control/Farnam-Endure-Fly-Spray-BUE30.html
And last
but not least, we have some bare spots that could use some grass seed. For a 50 pound bag
it is $127.59.
Sincerely,
Anne Boris

| Phoenix Rising Horse
Rescue in Nebraska is in desperate
need of help after the storms that rolled through there last night (17 Jun). There was golfball to baseball sized hail and many
of the horses received injuries from the hail (they were given the option to be in or out
of the barn due to the possibility of tornados and unfortunately only one mare out of the
whole herd stayed in the barn!). The horses
paniced with the hail and ran through fences, there is a lot of damage to the house,
buildings, and farm equipment. Please if you
can donate to help with the vet care that will be needed for around 20 horses, contact Lynn Schmale at lynnschmale@hotmail.com (lynnschmale @

PERMISSION
TO CROSS POST!!!!!!!!
Gods
Creatures Rescue is sad to announce we are no longer accepting
any
animals. We are currently offering our rescues at a reduced fee of
$75.00
Due to lack of adoptions there is no funding and we have no
money to
continue to stay open. Food cost has gone up and so has vet
care. We
welcome any licensed rescue facility to help with finding
homes for
our animals or transfer to your organization. I am the only
person
running this rescue I have no foster homes and no help. I have
had some
sever family issues come up and have to place all the rescues
on my
site by the end of July. All are spayed & neutered, current on
shots,
heartworm negetave and on prevention. I cannot afford to buy
frontline
for them this month so they are not current on that. I have
been in
rescue many years and no matter how hard I try things just get
worse and
worse. It breaks my heart to have to close my rescue but
there is
no alternitave. The dogs are not getting all they need or
deserve.
I am pleading for your help, I know it is the worst time
possiable
to do this but there is no other option at this point without
the
animals suffering. Please feel free to call me any time

I am so tired I just typed a message ran spell
check and I guess the message went to cyber space or maybe you will get this twice.....who
knows
I just got home and its 1 am I am so heart sick for the pain this pony must have went
through. He was seperatedfrom his life long companion and given to a livestock dealer. He
went crazy trying to find his buddy and ran into a 2x6 is what I am told.
A pinto pony gelding suffered a wound just below his eye. A portion of bone is sticking
out and the wound is deep. We are sitting here awaiting the vet for his care. I am asking
for donations to help make this happen. I wouldn't ask if I didn't need help for him. Once
he has had vet care I have a foster already lined up.
I am just guessing this vet call is going to cost around 300. or more. Please
consider helping even if its only 1.00 it all adds up.

I am in
MN and a northern MN 'farm' had 19 dead horses (see article below) which is
gruesome.
I know
most of us work with dogs and cats (and yes even a goat), but I am asking for your help in
donations to the MN Hooved Animal Rescue Foundation below to assist with the 67 horses
they have taken in due to cruelty cases such as this since May! Yes, May.
Please,
even if it's $1, $5, $10...every dollar will help them heal these poor animals.
The
address is below; I hope you can help knowing that we will continue to have to help
the dogs and cats (and goats and horses) all year!
Thank
you!

19 dead
horses, 9 starving ones found on Hewitt farm

The
carcass of one of the horses found last month at a farm in Todd County, Minn. Nine other
horses that were barely alive were removed from the farm, but three of them later were
destroyed. An investigation is continuing.
A Todd County
sheriff's deputy found dead foals next to their dead mothers. A felony case is being
pursued.
By PAUL WALSH, Star Tribune
Last update: June 5, 2008 - 7:57 PM
A grisly discovery on a central Minnesota farm: 19 dead horses
scattered about and nine clinging to life.
That's the scene that a Todd County sheriff's deputy came upon at the
farm in Hewitt.
Of those nine, three had to be
destroyed, said the head of an animal rescue center that first took in the surviving
horses.
"I believe the rest of them are going to be fine," said Drew
Fitzpatrick, whose Minnesota Hooved Animal Rescue Foundation in Zimmerman is nursing the
remaining six.
When Fitzpatrick arrived at the farm May 25 with three trailers, she
saw horse carcasses and horses that were still alive but just "skin and bones ...
their skin loaded up with parasites."
Dead foals were next to their dead mothers.
"All of the neighbor dogs had been chewing on [one horse],"
Fitzpatrick said. "It was really heart-wrenching."
Bryan Tebben, chief deputy for the county sheriff's office, said a
deputy was sent to the farm after a report of horses that were loose. The deputy
determined the animals came from a farm in the 13300 block of Raccoon Road. Two people
were on the property, but the owner was not, Tebben said. The owner was in jail from May 3
until Wednesday in Wadena County on suspicion on drunken driving.
In the meantime, Tebben's office continues to investigate and intends
to present a felony case to the county attorney.
Fitzpatrick said of the nine horses her center retrieved, eight were
stallions. The mare, she believes, was pregnant and "all bitten to hell."
Despite how terribly the horses had been treated, she said, they're
friendly to those tending them. "It's embarrassing as a human that these animals can
be so forgiving."
Wade Hanson, an Animal Humane Society investigator in Golden Valley
called to the farm, said, "We've never been to a property where there's been 19 dead
horses."
Hanson added, "We're probably going to see worse before we're
going to see better" because of the overall economic downturn. He cited the high
price of gasoline to run farm vehicles and the skyrocketing cost for hay to feed horses..
Still, he said, "that's not an excuse" for neglecting
animals. "There's always a way" to do what's best for animals, he said, whether
it's turning them over to rescue operations or selling them. However, he acknowledged,
"you can't get a decent dollar" for a horse now.
Fitzpatrick said she has seen many cases of abuse and neglect in her
15 years of rescuing horses and other animals. Even so, she said, "It's still tough.
If it ever became easy, I'd have to go find something else [to do]."

Subject: Mustang mares need transport

Cross post away!!!
Hello all
This past year a huge
rescue in the Kentucky area resulted in 17 dead horses including several titled
mustangs, the rescue of 5 mustang mares, and several other breeds. The 5 mares have
been fostered at a wonderful ranch while being rehabilitate but now it's time to have them
go to their forever home. The man that has been fostering the horses has adopted 2
of them. The other 3 mares are heading to Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in South
Dakota.
As fantastic as this
news is, we need your help. The transporter is willing to haul the horses just for gas money! So, we need $750 TOTAL (not bad for a Kentucky to South
Dakota run) to make this happen for these mares.
What you can do to
help -- go to www.speakupforhorses.org
and click on the Paypal link. There is no donation too small. Speak Up For
Horses is a 501c3, non profit, so your donation is tax deductible. Be sure to mark your
donation as "mustangs" You can also snail mail to
the address on the website.
Please help us give
these 3 girls a gift they so deserve - a forever home where they can go back to just
being horses.
On behalf of these 3
special mustang girls, all those that have worked so hard behind the scenes rescuing
and caring for these horses, and Speak Up For Horses -- THANK YOU.
