Hi everyone. The mini's are still
available. In addition to them....the following horses are also available (on a
different broker lot than the minis.)
click logo to return to homepage
Ok everyone - I just finished uploading the video's and copying the links to the pages.
Here are the horses that I was able to get pictures of while there today.
Again - we didn't have a lot of time and there are more horses there... let's
spread the word and help these horses get out of the circuit.. There is one high
priced boy obviously not in danger at the moment of going to slaughter but a very nice
horse and I already had the pictures - he would be a nice moving Fox Hunt prospect.
Dad is now out of hospital - phew!
Don't forget AC4H is having an adopt-a -thon the entire month of July -
see horses in our care: AC4H Available Horses & AC4H In
Quarantine
1) Belgian gelding approx 3/4 yr old and 18/19 hands - Very gentle giant was easy to
handle just a big huge baby. Video in hand:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReRRNKjfqbU $600.00 Available
2) Perch X American Warmblood - approx 7 yr old and 17ish hands - Fox Hunter
prospect
Nice fluid mover not clunky - tracks nicely Video
in hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GADXPLc8lWs
$2000.00 Available
3) Palomino mare approx 15 hands and 14ish yr old nice quiet walk, trot and rolled
right into a canter - didn't make a wrong move - didn't respond too quickly that it would
scare a rider didn't question commands - nice horse.
Video walk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReRRNKjfqbU
Video trot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_7Jo3WgM_A
Video canter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmcTfKcfErA $650.00
Available
4) Standardbred gelding older guy - most likely used on the road .. he did take a
rider and his legs seem clean. With
comparing markings and tattoo - this horse appears to be WOODY HILL (D82190, G) out of
FALCON ALMAHURST - WOODHILL LADY - BEST OF ALL http://pathway.ustrotting.com/search/index.cfm?action=result&horse_id=251850
Video in hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikxNCy-s3ow $450.00

5) Grade gelding approx 15.1 hands and 4/5 yr old - came right out of a stall and
did a perfect walk, trot and canter. Pretty black points with contrasting white -
NICE! Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KzEt3dB3tc $1,000.00
Available
6) Not your normal TB build :>) very thick and solid warmblood type look.
Very much a babysitter - Selina (10 yrs old) rode her and she was careful to move
slow and "took care of her". She impressed me with her kindness and gentle
nature. approx 15.3 hands and 12 - 15ish. She has a spot in her left eye but doesn't
hinder her in the least. If your looking for a large confidence builder please
consider this mare.

Thanks so much for getting back with me, I
really appreciate it. I do understand about not having a place to put any animals at
this time. I would greatly appreciate ANY help that you can give to help me find
Koby a good home. I think that he could be useful for possiby a therapy horse as
long at it is at a walk or a light person/kid. He is trained and has been shown
Country English Pleasure and in Halter this year prior to having his problem surface with
the navicular disease. He would also be great for a companion to another horse, he
has been turned out with other horses without any problems. I will attach photo's of
him and again would appreciate any help that you can offer. I can be contacted any time at
318-372-5806 and I am located in
West Monroe, LA.
Thanks again for responding, that is more that
many other places have done.

HELP!!! Beautiful horse in jeopardy

Contact Meg directly at my work e-mail,
megan@reedinsuranceservice.com (megan @
reedinsuranceservice.com). My only concern is that she will run out of
antibiotics in about a week. She is located
in Southwest Washington.
I know of a gorgous, young horse who is going to be put down if
somebody can't take her. She is double registered AQHA and 88%
foundation, has 3 weeks of ground training already. This little girl
needs surgery on an impacted tooth and her owner just can't afford
it. If you, or anyone you know, wants this girl, the owner is willing
to give her away to somebody that will have the surgery done. I had
the girl at my house for a year and what a doll. I would take her if
I wasn't already at my max. This is a friendly, steady and wonderful
horse. Very loving and playful, no bad habits, had a child riding her
before her 2nd birthday, has never had shoes on, loads, ties, bathes
you name it. Please, please pass this on to anybody you know that is
willing to take on this wonderful girl.

Hi Brandi,
Please add and continue - Sweetie is a 3 year old bay mare that
had a leg injury at birth. She comes running when you call her. She should do
great with a light rider or as a companion horse. She is free to a good home.
She is halter broke and has had a saddle on many times.
Raven is a 15 year old registered quarter horse mare. She
came to us for rehab and found out that she has a severe dental problem and the dentist
will be here in August.
This is a horse for an experienced rider or intermediate with experience. We haven't
had a fair chance to try her.
Both are up to date on shots, vaccinations and Coggins.

Horses
for adoption:
1. I have listed my landlords three mares on my
website. Please
note that they have very limited handling. I
am reintroducing the halter and will work with them until a good home is found for them. 6 yr old grulla roan mare, approximately 13.2
14.0 H, very petite mare, slight injury to hoof, but should come back sound. She is still a bit nervous about the halter, but is
gradually letting me put it on her. She allows
it over her nose, but when reaching up to put the part behind her ears, she gets a bit
nervous. $300 obo. 5 yr old bay roan mare. Approximately 14.2 15H. Beautiful face and very willing to please. She is haltering nicely now and is beginning to
take tentative steps forward when asked. Not
bad considering we are working in the pasture with all the other horses around! $400 obo. My
landlord also has an older bay roan mare. This mare is very friendly likes people,
is halter broke (she is a little nervous at first when you start to put the halter on, but
once on she will do anything asked of her), and had a beautiful bay colt last year (she is
open this year.) She is not registered. I am not for sure how old she is...I
forgot to ask my landlord today (29 Apr). $400
obo. I will require references (vet, farrier,
and other) before being sold. You can see
their pictures at http://missyshopeequinerescueresource.freehostia.com
on the horses we are helping page. Although I
am not a rescue, I am listing them here because I will be thorough about the home that
they go to. Please email me for more info Missys.hope @ gmail.com (remove spaces) Located
in Nebraska. Update:
The landlord has mentioned taking them to auction a couple of times lately. I am still working to keep him from sending them,
but due to high risk early pregnancy, I havent been able to work with them as much
right now. In 2 more weeks I am cleared to
start back up slowly though!
2. Hello all,
One of our adopters is dealing with a 2nd bout of cancer, and is returning a mini gelding
they adopted from us. Additionally, they have a 9 year old paint gelding, 15H, bay
and white. He is broke to ride, but due to medical issues of the adopter (not the
horse) he has not been ridden the last year.
If anyone is interested in either horse, please contact us.
Thanks!

Subj: Jelly Bean Joe needs a home
Hi Sarah,
Here are pics I took today of my boy Jelly Bean. I have others from last
year I will try to forward to you later. So here's the scoop:
He is 15.2H and coloring is called smutty buckskin. If you just look at
him quickly, you'd call him a bay, especially in the winter. He is a 10
year old AQHA gelding. I do have the papers on him.
Background - started off as a barrel horse but didn't like it, I suspect
because his hocks got sore. Has done a lot of trails and is good alone, in
groups, on the road or in the rough. I did one judged ride on him and he
was excellent. I have owned him for just under 2 years and have done 1
month of training with Bob Burrelli and then trails only.
He has fantastic ground manners. He likes being around people. Usually
comes to me when I go to bring him in from turnout. I never tie him, just
tell him to stand still and he will hang out for all the grooming, tacking,
farrier, whatever. He can be cross tied (I used to) but don't need to
anymore. He is great for vet and farrier. He self loads on the trailer - I
would say he even enjoys going for a ride - he's always anxious to get on
once I've got it hitched!
He is very sensitive to aids when ridden and takes a light hand. I ride
him in a snaffle. He is very eager to please and learns quickly. His gaits
are pleasant and he has a brisk walk. He moves forward very easily.
He gets along well with other horses, though at this barn he was only
turned out with one other gelding, so I don't have extensive first hand
experience.
Health wise, He has never been colicky, and keeps weight on easily. I did
have his hocks injected thinking that the bucking issue may have been
secondary to that. He's probably go some arthritis there and I wouldn't
recommend him for any speed or hard turning work. I keep shoes on him,
though he came to me barefoot.
Now the bad stuff. There is only 1 problem with Jelly Bean and that is
his occassionally bucking. 95% of the time when I ride, he is an absolute
perfect gentleman. The problem seems to come when he gets upset about
something, and he will throw a buck. 25 years ago, this wouldn't have
bothered me, but I'm getting older and dont roll or recover as well, so I've
decided to look for a safer horse.
I am hoping you can help me place him. He is such a wonderful horse in
so many ways, I'd like to see him go to someone who can appreciate him and
who has the experience to deal with the bucking. I would certainly consider
a trade.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you!
Sue Ellen Mowcomber

Subject: Animal Rescue owner DIES - HELP NEEDED
Please pass this info to your rescue groups!
The owner of a well-known animal rescue group located in Coweta, Oklahoma died Sunday from a
farm accident leaving behind more than 50 dogs, cats, 2 horses and a donkey -- all in
need of daily care.
The owner's wife is fighting a terminal illness and cannot assist with the animals.
There is one assistant that goes there three times a day to care for the animals but she
cannot continue to do this on her own.

4. Purebred Arabian Mare looking for help. (feel free to xpost)
I will start by saying this is not a rescue but
it is a plea for help.
My friend Beth as a VERY nice 9 yr old, purebred
Arabian mare that is about 3/4 CMK and 1/4 Spanish bred that she would like to place in a
home that can do more for the mare then she can.
Ameer Faiths story:
Beth owned this mare since she was born and had
high hopes for her but that wasn't the way things turned out.
Faith is a very beautiful Grey mare with the
sweetest personality and a pedigree to die for.
A lady came by one day to buy another mare Beth
had for sale and fell in love with Faith and after several months and and allot of
promises she sold the mare to this person who promised to train, show and give her a
forever home, with a return clause if it didn't work out.
Faith was broken to ride and bred to this Lady's
stud. Suddenly one day she started bucking off her rider and became hard to catch.
Long story short Beth bought the mare back and
took her home.
The first thing she noticed was that her knee
was about 3 times the size it should have been and they had been riding her this
way!!
The injury was old enough that her knee was cold
and hard so Beth has had her retired to pasture and the next year she was bred and carried
the foal with no problems.
This year is a different story though and Faith
is now prone to limping on the bad leg. Pain meds help her but Beth isn't in a situation
she feels that she can do this mare as much good as someone who has more experience
working towards this kind of injury. Without this special care Faith needs, she will more
then likely have her life shortened by being put down instead of being let suffer.
She being offered for free but only to an
approved home that can and is willing to help her out. She is not in danger of being
sent to auction.
Beth will stay in contact with who ever takes
her and Faith can be returned if need be.
Shes located Northern
California.
If any ones
interested in her they can msg me for more information keeperquest_2002@yahoo.com

Eight-year-old Bay Gelding Thoroughbred free to good home as a companion horse. Friendly,
likes people. x-rays show calcification on Kossu's front left ankle so vet says weight of
a rider a no-go for foreseeable future. But no swelling or inflamation. Otherwise
completely healthy and happy. Looks good on a lunge line and in turn out. Have two horses
boarded so he needs a good home with folks with some space. Call (860) 885-1528.

Subject: Rescue Needed
Hello,
My name is Erik Lanphier and my
mother Karen Claffey age 63 recently lost her husband of 20 years. They have been
somewhat of a rescue operation in Polson Montana, caring for 13 horses of which they have
collected over the past 20 years from friends or relatives that could not care for them.
Regrettably, my mother is not able to care for the 250 acres of property, numerous
out barns and the 13 horses any longer and has put the property up for sale. She is
planning on moving closer to me and my younger brother in Northern Illinois. The
plan is to take four of the horses with her, but that leaves nine of the horses to find
homes for. They have been pasture horses for years, they are older horses that would
need to be broken, and they probably will not trailer very well. We would be willing
to make numerous donations to your rescue operation in many different forms based off of
what I read on your wish list. The
most probable number to contact me at would be my cell phone 630-327-5205.
We would appreciate any help you can
provide for us.

I wanted to update everyone that the mini's are
still available at this time and will be for at least another week or so. After that
they will be sold to another dealer who is going to ship them to Puerto Rico. Hope
we can find them some homes before then. If anyone is interested in helping a mini,
please feel free to ask questions. They are a real cute bunch.

HOME NEEDED!
Cold Spring, 5 year old Standandbred, currently located at Saratoga =
Raceway.
Bowed her tendon a few weeks back--the bow has set up well but she can
longer race. Trainer says, he'd like her to have a second chance as " =
she
has been such a good girl, never done a wrong thing in her life". She is
sound now, looks like a million bucks, kind and willing, needs a home =
ASAP
as owner wants her gone. Trainer is holding off shipping her to an =
auction
through the weekend...
If she ends up placed somewhere close to Saratoga, I will help with her
re-training to saddle.

6. Hello
everyone
Our yearlings and 2-year-olds just came up on Sunday from FL, and there's a 2-year-old
gelding in the bunch with an injury that will keep him from ever hitting the track. He's
been declared a giveaway, so...I figured you'd be the folks that might be able to help
find a suitable home for the guy. We can arrange to van him to his new home gratis.
I'm kind of under a tight deadline to get this boy out of here, so if you can do anything,
forward this on to anyone, ANYTHING, I'd be forever in your debt. His prognosis for
recovery is great, so I don't think I could live with myself if he had to be put down
because he wasn't placed in time.
Vie is a dark bay/brown gelding by Caller I. D., sane and calm and quiet, just like his
mom Pineyville. A few months ago down at the training farm, he apparently got a
superficial cut on his right foreleg from a guide wire, but it became infected and he
ended up losing some of the flesh on it to bacteria. Our vet, Jeffrey Edelson of Manheim,
said it's debatable whether Vie would have recurring pain from the infection, but he was
leaning towards probably not. He said that with a year or so of rest and rehab,
there was no reason why he couldn't be used for hacking, trail riding, or flatwork. (Just
nothing involving galloping.)
Getting Vie's skin to close is the most important thing right now, and Dr. Edelson does
have an ointment that would hasten that process that he could provide. Vie should
have mild exercise (walking) and ideally be confined to a small paddock so he won't get
the idea to take off at a gallop. He should NOT be confined to his stall, as he
needs air and light exercise to recover.
Attached are various photos of walking, trotting, conformation shots that were taken
around 3:30 p.m. yesterday. Vie looked great and moved very well. Chuck King,
our stallion man (Real Quiet's handler) and all-around horseman here at the farm, was
impressed with his movement and how you couldn't see the injury affecting him at all if
you didn't know it was there.
Please forward this on to anyone you know that may be willing to let this guy have some R
'n R for a while. He's sane, quiet when having his feet handled, very mellow, and
just an all-around good guy that doesn't deserve an untimely end when he could have a
bright future ahead of him.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

His name is Jack. I don't know how old he is but
I think he's full grown. We have had him a couple of years. We took him in because his
owner couldn't afford to fed him. He has been well fed since he has been with us. We don't
have the knowledge for the continued care he needs. He is very shy around people because
we don't know what to do with him. This is why the price is so low. I would appreciate
Jack moving where he will be well taken care of. Please email or call 615-429-8382 if you
can help. Thanks

Hi Brandi,
Please add and continue - Sweetie is a 3 year old bay mare that
had a leg injury at birth.
If you have any questions: please
call Kelly @ 815-777-9091 or Rhonda 815-777-2014. We live near Galena, Il.
Manchester, Iowa
Looking for two kid broke horses with out any vices. They will have excellent care
with lots of love.
Telephones as above plus 563-927-2410.
Thank you so much for all that you do.

Horses
for adoption:

Thanks!!

"Be part of the solution....not part of the problem. Silence is NOT always the mark

SLY is about 12 years old (the best estimate I was given from person I got him from). He
is around 16.2hh maybe a little taller. He seems to really like kids and is very very
calm. We've ridden him a couple of times and
he rode down side the highway fine. The problem we have is he can't seem to stay sound.
When he was racing he bowed a tendon, it seems to have healed, but he started having some
absesses on his front feet. Do not know why. I really just don't have the money to put
into finding out what his problem really is. I've had him for about 2 years and I need to
find him a really good home because he deserves it. He can be a pasture mate or maybe a
4-H peoject. He is really pretty and has a great personality. I would describe him as a
gentle giant.
Thanks for your help. Pics are attached.

Hi,
Thanks for your quick response. Yes if you could
pass on the info on SLY I would be grateful. He is a wonderful horse and seems to love
kids. I think maybe he could be a 4-h projcet or halter class project. I do have pics if
anyone would to see them. Thanks Again.
