Hi Brandi,
Please add and continue - Sweetie is a 3 year old bay mare that
had a leg injury at birth. She comes running when you call her. She should do
great with a light rider or as a companion horse. She is free to a good home.

Raven is a 15 year old registered quarter horse mare. She
came to us for rehab and found out that she has a severe dental problem and the dentist
will be here in August.
This is a horse for an experienced rider or intermediate with experience. We haven't
had a fair chance to try her.
Both are up to date on shots, vaccinations and Coggins.

CA: 3 Emaciated
horses need help NOW
Hi everyone
There are 3 horses here in the high desert of Southern CA that need homes. The man who
owns them has been trying to give them away for months with no luck.
He is on disability and can not feed them. They are starving.
Here are their pictures taken today:
This is Fiesta Rose:
She is a 5 year old
registerable arab mare
This is Devo:Devo is a registered half arab stallion. He is 7 years old. He has a stomach
ulcer and an ulcer on his mouth from a reaction to some feed he was given.
This is Charlie:
He is a 6 year old
registered arab stallion. Registered name is Rashads Charo.
These horses need help. Tockita, Barpurple, JenM, Cybercat, Nancy and any others who are
in southern CA........can you help by finding them permanent homes? I can foster the mare,
Fiesta Rose. My friend can foster the stallion Charlie but we need to find a foster home
for Devo, the one with the ulcer.
Any donations for hay, senior equine, rice bran, beet pulp could go directly to Desert
Feed up here in Phelen. The horses are located here in Phelan.
They are still at the owner's house but need to be moved out of there ASAP. Can anyone in
this area help? Please contact me by
email: Stashasmyarab@hughes.net
(stashasmyarab @ Hughes.net)
All 3 horses are free to a good, rescue minded home.
Horses
for adoption:
1. I have listed my landlords three mares on my
website. Please
note that they have very limited handling. I
am reintroducing the halter and will work with them until a good home is found for them. 6 yr old grulla roan mare, approximately 13.2
14.0 H, very petite mare, slight injury to hoof, but should come back sound. She is still a bit nervous about the halter, but is
gradually letting me put it on her. She allows
it over her nose, but when reaching up to put the part behind her ears, she gets a bit
nervous. $300 obo. 5 yr old bay roan mare. Approximately 14.2 15H. Beautiful face and very willing to please. She is haltering nicely now and is beginning to
take tentative steps forward when asked. Not
bad considering we are working in the pasture with all the other horses around! $400 obo. My
landlord also has an older bay roan mare. This mare is very friendly likes people,
is halter broke (she is a little nervous at first when you start to put the halter on, but
once on she will do anything asked of her), and had a beautiful bay colt last year (she is
open this year.) She is not registered. I am not for sure how old she is...I
forgot to ask my landlord today (29 Apr). $400
obo. I will require references (vet, farrier,
and other) before being sold. You can see
their pictures at http://missyshopeequinerescueresource.freehostia.com
on the horses we are helping page. Although I
am not a rescue, I am listing them here because I will be thorough about the home that
they go to. Please email me for more info Missys.hope @ gmail.com (remove spaces) Located

Mon Jun 30, 2008 12:36 pm (PDT)
A friend of mine has a TWH that he is giving
away. He has excellent
bloodlines, is 10 years old, and would be best in a situation where
children or a small adult rode him. He had an accident a few years ago
and got his hoof stuck in a pallet, which after numerous x-rays, vet
visits, etc. The owner decided to retire him to a nice family instead
of eventing with him. He has been sitting around for a while but has a
gentle temperament and loves kids. The vet thinks he has slight
ringbone due to this injury which limits him to walk and trot, and he
would make an awesome trail horse. If you want further details, please
emal missgypsy007@aol.com
(missgypsy007 @ aol.com). I do not have photos so if you are
interested in coming and seeing the horse, who is a beautiful chestnut,
he is located in Rockland, MA. The owner is allowing me to find this
horse a home instead of putting him down, as he needs two eventing
horses and right now he only has one. So please if anyone is looking
for a lovely horse, please respond.

Several Horses for Placement

Hello NEER!
I have several horses available for placement.
One loves to trailride and would make someone a wonderful horse.
She has no abnormal health issues.
The other is a beautiful palomino mare that needs to be a pasture
mate or companion. She was once used as a bucking horse, so she isn't
rideable. She is wonderful on the ground and very sweet and gets
along with other horses well. She has no abnormal health issues.
I also have 2 mustangs ready for adoption through the TIP program.
A 2-year old bay gelding that is going to be tall. He is very sweet.
A 4 year old pinto red roan mare that is also very sweet and is
built very stout.
They are halter trained, and good to handle.
Thank you!

Hi All,
We are full, one of our members is taking in the
3 horses from Ohio that were
posted a few days ago and I just received this email. We are getting a horse that has been
in his stall for 15 years and some of the members are upset about this because we have to
geld him and support him and he is not an "urgent care dire situation need". I
feel he is as he has not had sun on his back for 15 years and STILL LOVES PEOPLE !! There
is no way we can take on this one ! PLease help if there is anyone out there who has room
for her !! Hey Don and Darla she is in Ashland
if you can take her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Brenda
Hello....
I'm in a bit of a desperate situation here...
I have a 2 year old tb mare that belonged to a family member of mine. She is
the result of a bad break up and its really a very sad situation. When they broke up
the ex fiancé decided she wasnt going to care for the horse anymore, she was
literally skin and bones when she arrived here!! VERY SAD!! Anyhow...2 months ago I
was called and asked if I could keep this mare for a week or two for him (my cousin)...
I agreed being that it was only very temporarily and I made it very clear to him
that I would need that stall come july. I have a mare and foal right now and the
foal is in need of weaning here very soon and I only have 3 stalls and this filly is
taking one of them. She is a 2 year old tb mare (NO PAPERS) 15 hands I would guess
and sorrel. She is really sweet natured and very mannerly. We clean her stall
around her while she eats... she leads in and out to pasture like an angel. When she
arrived here she was quiet on the trailer and unloaded on the road just as quietly.
She is not something I can keep. a few
years back I kept 10-13 horses of my own and I managed a 35 stall facility. WHen I
had my daughter I had to give that up and have slowly narrowed my horses down to just one
broodmare and my kids pony. I need to move this mare here pretty quick as I really
have to get this colt off of his mom soon. I cannot keep her and now that I know I'm
not even being reimbursed for the feed and expense I have put into her I am hurting.
I have given bills every few weeks and have not been paid anything for her
feed/hay/bedding etc. I need help.. I can NOT keep this mare. I just cant even
believe she has been dumped on me like this by a family member even. Pathetic.
I have been told to sell her... send her to auction.. donate her.. give her
away whatever I want. Sooo.. Its sad that its even become my
responsibility but I dont know where to start even looking. She is
unregistered and I have only ever dealt with high quality show horses. I have shown
everything from dressage to western pleasure. I used to keep 10-13 of my own
horses and bred quarterhorses. I have downsized greatly to only 1 broodmare and
my kids pony but I do have this colt that I have to get weaned here very soon
and desperately need to open a stall.
Please let me know if she is something that you
can take on... or any advice on what I might try?? someone else I might contact if you
cant take her on?? Anything you can offer will be very much appreciated.
THANKS,

Spirit Needs Home
ASAP!
Hi!
Can you help find Spirit a new home?
He needs a home ASAP! He was rescued from the kill pen at a NJ auction by a
young girl who wanted to save him.
Her story has been detailed in several local NJ newspapers for her heroic
efforts. We were contacted by this wonderful family last month, but were not
needed at the time as there were several offers to take Spirit and give him
a forever home.
We got a call on Friday that Spirit needed our help right away, because
those offers fell through and Spirit is looking for a home ASAP.
Jessica, the young lady who saved him, is headed out of state and needs him
placed ASAP. The family will pay his shipping to his new home (with in the
NJ, PA, MD area) and will contribute to the cost of shipping for a home
farther away.
Spirit Details
He stands almost 17 hands, is 10 years old, is a dark bay that loves
everyone. He loves people time and treats, he is currently a companion only
due to missing half his frog and wears a bar shoe. He is currently in the
Chester, NJ area. He needs help right away. He is
free to a approved home.
Please email us at angelacreshorsehaven@yahoo.com

MINI GELDING FREE TO GOOD HOME. Hi, I have a 2yr old, 32", cute and sweet, black mini
gelding that I would like to place free to a good home. I am a small breeder, and this
mini was born with a bump on his back. It creates a little 'hump' appearance, but it has
been consistently looked at by the vet and now that he has stopped growing (and so has the
bump), and he is a normal, healthy, playful mini, it looks as though he should lead a
long, healthy life. He does not have any other health issues and needs no special
attention (except for that he can obviously not be ridden) ;-) Thanks for your time, and
if you think you may be interested, I can send you photos. Listed 6/26/08

nervous.

Just wanted to give everyone here
a heads up on a horse I know of who
needs a new home. Located in Idaville, IN
His name is Trouble (apparently because a stallion cannot be kept in
un-electrified wire without attempting to get out at least once or
twice LOL) He is still a stallion but is nice on the ground. He is not
formally saddle trained, though she said last summer her kids and her
did ride him down the road bareback (I said he was a stallion... he is
a good natured boy obviously lol) He is on the short side probably
around 14?
The people just really do not know much about horses. They really
wanted to get some money out of him, but now they HAVE to get rid of
him or he will starve. She basically told me they dont wanna buy the
food anymore. Hay is about $6 a bale here for grass.. and its hard to
find it even at that price...
I would take him for a project horse, except I do not have property
and my dad has banned anymore critters on his land... (he knows he
would have a rescue/zoo if he let his darling daughter have her way LOL)
If anyone wants any more info I can pass email addresses or phone
numbers on to her (I lost her phone number and talk to her through
Myspace, I will work on getting her phone number again).
I can take more if anyone wants them. Also willing to see what he
knows on the ground.
He is in just a few strands of hot wire that are not even hot. When
they first got him he got out a few times, but seems okay in there now.

5. This
came from the ABR forum
I just spent a week
at Malibu Ranch, which is in the Poconos.
For those who haven't been there, its a "dude" ranch, who takes marvelous
care of their horses. One of their retired trail horses is looking for a permanent
home, he's older and going blind. He's still ridable in a controlled situation, but
they think its best that he retire from ranch life. If you're interested, contact Ray at 15702967281
6. We
received a call on a 10 year old AQHA gelding, in Middletown, NY. He is a solid citizen,
good with kids, but in need of treatment for a sarcoid in the girth area.
Please call if you are interested in him, and are able to provide him with the care he
needs.

Hi Brandi,
Please add and continue - Sweetie is a 3 year old bay mare that
had a leg injury at birth. She comes running when you call her. She should do
great with a light rider or as a companion horse. She is free to a good home.
She is halter broke and has had a saddle on many times.
Raven is a 15 year old registered quarter horse mare. She
came to us for rehab and found out that she has a severe dental problem and the dentist
will be here in August.
This is a horse for an experienced rider or intermediate with experience. We haven't
had a fair chance to try her.
Both are up to date on shots, vaccinations and Coggins.

for adoption:
She is haltering nicely now and is beginning to

bad considering we are working in the pasture with all the other horses around! $400 obo. My

The landlord has mentioned taking them to auction a couple of times lately. I am still working to keep him from sending them,
but due to high risk early pregnancy, I havent been able to work with them as much
right now. In 2 more weeks I am cleared to
start back up slowly though!

I don't have a ton of info. of these two mares.
The original owner of these two mares sold
them to a couple in NH who have
not ever had horses. (I know I Know I know) Anyway, the
couple is now getting divorced and the horses need to be moved again.
The original owner is the one trying once again to find them a home. He and his wife are
older and not doing well. The work to take care of them would be difficult for them.
Is anyone out there looking? The two mares are sound. A couple of folks went to help the
current owners with Horse 101 class. The horses were tacked up and lead around, weight
put on their backs, etc. No riding was done, but the though was that these two would train
under saddle very easily.
Let me know if you want to see them or get more info. All I have right now is a rather
long
email talking about each of these horses and the previous owners concern about finding
them a good home.

Morgan Horse in Vermont Needs Home:
Chris is located in Colchester, Vermont. He was professionally
trained and has excellent ground manners. He was the 2005 World
Champion Hunter Pleasure Ladies winner in Oklahoma City at the Grand
National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show. Chris is very laid
back, but does have trust issues do to some past handling, mainly with
men. He is easy to handle otherwise but would be best with an
experienced owner due to the founder. He loves to get grounded and
receive attention so someone willing to pamper him would be best. He
stands great for the farrier, loads easily, clips and cross ties
without a problem. He does needs to be on twice daily Thryo-L.
He has never foundered before and my vet has no idea why it has
happened. We did blood work and found that he was hypothyroid but that
alone does not typically cause a horse to founder. Although it is more
common among Morgans in general, he was not overweight, was not on
grass, had no sudden changes in diet. Nothing that typically causes
founder was apparent. Because of this I doubt that it will happen
again, but sometimes you never know. He might potentially be ridable
one day but will need a good amount of time until he is sound enough
for pleasure riding before that will become a possibility.

someone will take her for free) I read that 2 vets have looked at her and said she will be
fine for trail riding and light jogging. Not for jumping or galloping. She has a super sweet
disposition and would be a great family pet.(her pics are on ABR)she is beautiful, too! If
